Lachlan has been recording, mixing and mastering records for the past 20 years. In 2023 he mastered the Grammy-nominated soundtrack for Baz Luhrmann's "Elvis", a diverse compilation featuring Doja Cat, Eminem & CeeLo Green, Jack White, Tame Impala, Chris Isaacs & Stevie Nicks, Kacey Musgraves as well as Elvis Presley himself.
His studio mixing credits include Emma Donovan, Luke Howard, Gurrumul, Missy Higgins, Ben Abraham, CW Stoneking, Mo'ju, Spender, Gotye, Lior, Elixir, Oren Ambarchi, Anthony Pateras, APSCI, Crayon Fields, Andrea Keller, Gian Slater, Christopher Hale Ensemble and Julian Wilson.
Many records Lachlan has been involved with have been nominated for ARIA awards ("Australian Grammys"). Winners include CW Stoneking’s “Jungle Blues”, Bertie Blackman’s “Secrets & Lies”, Gotye’s “Mixed Blood”, Paul Kelly & Paul Grabowsky's "Please Leave Your Light On" and Elixir’s “First Seed Ripening."
He has remastered a series of 4 classic Triffids albums for Domino Records (UK), as well as releases for artists like The Cat Empire, Client Liaison, Angus & Julia Stone, Missy Higgins, Jack Ladder, Liars, AB Original, Mantra, Gretta Ray, Emily Lubitz, Harry James Angus, Felix Riebl, Sally Seltmann, Architecture In Helsinki, Lior, Gotye, Emma Donovan, The Putbacks, The Crayon Fields, Oren Ambarchi, Sunn o))), Whitley, The Exploders, Tropical Fuck Storm and many more.
He has plenty of experience working in immersive formats, mixing film scores for composers Nigel Westlake, David Hirschfelder and Francois Tetaz, as well as mixing and mastering immersive releases for artists such as Luke Howard, Rob Grant ft. Lana Del Rey, Emma Donovan & The Putbacks, The Drones and others. He is currently working on several Dolby Atmos music projects set for release later in the year.
Lachlan is the current Front Of House engineer for Gotye, joining in for the last 2 world tours. Other live mixing credits include The Cat Empire, Hiatus Kaiyote, Angus & Julia Stone, Lior and The Necks. He also enjoys working with multi-award winning theatre group Back To Back Theatre, who just won the International Ibsen Award.
Recently, Lachlan has continued mastering and mixing film scores, as well as getting involved in projects with Aloe Blacc, Domini Forster, Lior, Andrea Keller, Gian Slater, Julien Wilson, Luke Howard Trio and The Cat Empire. He’s working mainly from his own mastering and Atmos facility in the northern suburbs of Melbourne.
