Lachlan has been recording, mixing and mastering records for the past 20 years. For most of the past decade, he’s worked primarily with Francois Tetaz at Franc’s studio Moose Mastering in Melbourne. He’s found himself shifting more and more into producing and arranging, but still likes to flip between various roles engineering, mixing, mastering and live mixing.

He is the current Front Of House engineer for Gotye, joining in for the last 2 world tours. He also enjoys touring with multi-award winning group Back To Back Theatre. Other live mixing credits include Angus & Julia Stone, The Cat Empire, Lior, Julia Stone, The Necks and Katie Noonan.

His studio mixing credits include Spender, Colour Bomb, Gotye, Lior, Mojo Juju, Packwood, Elixir, The Hello Morning, CW Stoneking, Oren Ambarchi, Anthony Pateras, APSCI, Crayon Fields, Gian Slater, Christopher Hale Ensemble and Julian Wilson.

Several records he’s worked on have won ARIA awards, including CW Stoneking’s “Jungle Blues”, Bertie Blackman’s “Secrets & Lies”, Gotye’s “Mixed Blood”, and Elixir’s “First Seed Ripening.”

He has remastered a series of 4 Triffids albums for Domino Records in the UK, as well as releases for artists like Architecture In Helsinki, Lior, Gotye, The Putbacks & Emma Donovan, The Crayon Fields, Jessica Says, Geoffrey O’Connor, Oren Ambarchi, Sunn o))), Whitley, Mantra, The Exploders, The Living End, Faux Pas, Ned Collette, and many more.

He has plenty of experience mixing and mastering in surround, having mixed several film projects with Franc, as well as mastering 5.1 DVD releases for The Drones and others.

Recently, Lachlan has produced the debut record for Totara Jack, mixed tracks for the upcoming Colour Bomb LP, arranged a new song for Lior to perform with SSO, as well as producing Lior’s 4th studio album. He recorded and mixed Nigel Westlake’s orchestral soundtrack for “Paper Planes”, directed by Robert Connolly, and then mixed David Hirschfelder’s score for upcoming feature “The Dressmaker”, starring Kate Winslett. He’s been mastering some excellent records for artists like Briggs, Ben Abraham, Aaron Choulai and The Cactus Channel. In the live sound world, he’s been doing some cracker shows with Daniel Johns (Vivid festival, Sydney Opera House) and Ben Abraham (Album Launch).
